Portage Residents Directory explains and links to public rolls, indexes, and historical collections. It does not host government records and has no affiliation with the City of Portage, Kalamazoo County, Michigan agencies, courts, libraries, or any other custodian.
2. Permitted Use
Use the service only for lawful personal reference. You must not use it to stalk, harass, threaten, intimidate, harm, impersonate, defraud, or unlawfully collect information about a person. You are responsible for checking the access rules of every official source you visit.
3. Not a Consumer Reporting Agency
We are not a consumer reporting agency as defined by the Fair Credit Reporting Act. Information from this service may not be used for credit, employment, tenant, insurance, or another purpose regulated by the FCRA.
4. Outside Websites
Links may lead to independent public offices, libraries, courts, postal services, and other websites. Their terms, privacy practices, record rules, fees, and availability control your use of those services. We do not control their content or results.
5. No Warranty
The service is provided as available. We do not promise that a link, office detail, record description, coverage date, or search result is complete, current, accurate, secure, or available at a particular time. Confirm a record with the custodian before relying on it.
6. Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by law, Portage Residents Directory and its operators are not liable for damages arising from use of, inability to use, or reliance on the service or an external source. This includes loss tied to an omitted, inaccurate, changed, or unavailable record.
7. Your Responsibility
You agree to defend and hold harmless Portage Residents Directory and its operators from claims, losses, liabilities, and expenses arising from your misuse of the service, breach of these terms, or violation of another person’s rights.
8. Site Materials
The service layout, writing, and original material are protected by applicable intellectual-property law. You may use them for personal reference, but may not copy, republish, scrape, sell, or build a competing directory from them without permission.
9. Changes to These Terms

Official public-record requests to Michigan public bodies follow the Michigan Freedom of Information Act, 1976 PA 442, MCL 15.231 et seq., including the response framework in MCL 15.235. Court and vital records have separate access rules.
12. Severability
If a court finds part of these terms unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in effect to the fullest extent allowed by law.
